As a botanical garden, PPG sponsors a variety of horticulture and nature based workshops through our life-long learning curriculum. Educational topics include garden design, plant propagation, native plants of the Southern Appalachia, plant-based nutrition, beginner beekeeping, plein air painting and nature photography. PPG welcomes school groups, summer camps and other educational organizations to the garden during the spring and summer months. Please contact us to schedule your next field trip. We are also excited to share our plans for our expanded shaded garden, our new topiary garden as well as our new handicapped accessible amphitheater, which will allow us to accommodate larger groups for our educational and cultural programs. PPG has hosted interns from Clemson University, USC-Union, USC-Upstate, USC-Columbia Honors College, Virginia Tech and the University of Alabama. We offer an eight-week summer internship program as well as specialized semester-long internships during the academic school year. Our interns assist with Horticultural Management, Plant Research, Archiving, Database Management, Event Planning, Marketing and Public Relations and Educational Programming
