In this talk Jay Moore will show us many plant introductions that are new to the market or will be coming soon. He may also touch on some older plants that still carry much merit but are often underutilized. Nothing is off limits as he will touch on trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials and annuals. You should walk away from this talk with a list a plants to use in your garden.
Jay D. Moore is a Horticulture Instructor at Spartanburg Community College, where he coordinates many aspects of the Center for Sustainable Agriculture. Jay also leads the majority of the hands on projects installed on campus which have reached up to $50,000 in scope of cost. Jay has help to develop the curriculum for many of the courses taught within the Horticulture Program.
Jay earned his BS of Horticulture and MS in Plant and Environmental Science from Clemson University and also his Permaculture Design Certification from Oregon State, among other distinctions in his field. Jay does his best to stay in touch with many of the students that he has taught, over the years, to monitor their progress in the field of Horticulture.
Jay enjoys hiking, fly fishing, hunting and being in the mountains. He lives in Spartanburg with his wife Kristy. Jay’s youngest daughter Anna, is a senior at Clemson University and his oldest daughter Emma Kate is in her first year of Medical school in Montana.
